Alvaro H. Pescador R. is a Chemical Engineer (1990) born in Bogotá in 1965. In 1991 were granted with a National award of the Colombian Council of Chemical Engineering for the group research and degree project: “Design and Development of a Steady State System Simulator” representing the University of América. In 1995 obtained the Magister in Literature at the Javeriana University with the thesis: “Relationships between Film Language and Literature, Music and Literature, inside Andres Caicedo’s narrative”.
 
 
   

That very year he traveled to the United Kingdom with a British Council scholarship to Study a M.Sc. in Pollution and Environmental Control at the University of Manchester (1996).

   

Since then he has been performed as environmental consultant of the DNP (National Planning Entity of Colombia), the AVH (Alexander Von Humboldt Biodiversity Research Institute) and ECOPETROL (Colombian Oil Company) in projects associated to the UNEP (United Nations Environmental Program) and the GEF (Global Environmental Facility).

 
 
 
 
 
 

Mr Pescador has been professor in the fields of Environmental Education, Process Engineering and Information Systems, at several Universities in Colombia. Chief of the Seminary in Computing Applied for Engineers at the University of America, the postgraduate program in Social Projects Assestment at the University of Los Andes, the Faculty of Economics and Management at Javeriana University, the he Postgraduate Program in Hydrology and soils at UIS and the Postgraduate Program in Environmental Planning at the University Nueva Granada.

Since the 2001 has been working as consultant and auditor for the implementation of EMS ISO 14001 and QMS ISO 9001:2000 with Bureau Veritas and some other companies in Colombia and abroad, as well as HSEQ Systems in general.

He has unedited one novel an one book of short tales, and is the creator and photographer of “Water Planet “.

He works actually in the Postgraduate Program of Built Environment at UPC, as lecturer of Environmental Indicators in Bogotá, and is looking for a sponsor to publish "The Water Planet" book.
